Peacock moonstone pendant

Fabulous rainbow moonstone set in fine silver, with an elegant sterling silver surround. This stunning neck-piece is beautifully suspended on a 1.5mm thick curb chain, and is branded with The Silver Bird maker's mark and 925 quality stamp.
 
With its striking luminescence, every moonstone is one-of-a kind. The beautiful 'adularescence', gives the signature iridescent flashes of blue when rotated. Use of this enticing stone for body adornment goes back into history; this bluish glow emitted from below the surface of the stone reminded ancient peoples of lunar light floating on water. In fact, the Ancient Greeks and Romans believed it was made of pieces of the moon! This stone is set with an open back in to enhance this mesmerising play of light as the stone moves.
